[Theme] urban nature close-up
« on: September 12, 2015, 16:36:33 »
So, i do not have access to the beautiful sceneries many of you seem to have access to. I also don't have the imagination to turn ordinary, every-day things into something like art. Therefor, i'd thought to start something like an urban nature close-up thread. Please add your stuff if you please.

Let's start it off with a spidy i found against the wall close to our back door. The yellow stuff are regular bricks, gives a clue of the scale.

I like the too tight crop :) loosing the feet and letting the legs extended out of the frame is great

Great detail of a brick wall... :-) I gather you have some more in the same vein, I'll be happy seeing them as the urban "genre" is my favorite !!!

Thanks Erik. I do have the shot with all of its legs in the frame, but somehow it doesn't have the same impact (for me).

Thanks Jacques. I certainly have more in the same genre, but was also hoping others would chime in with their "urban nature" close-ups.

Would this one qualify?
It's an interesting concept, Hans. I never thought of placing flowers among concrete but it is a fact that it's all around us...

Great photo's !

I am not sure if the Sorbus will qualify as urban nature, but it's nearly blocking my back-door.

The spidy - fully agree with Erik - the fact that you couldnt get all the legs in the frame reflects the fact that they are loooooong.

Elsa, thanks!

Great stuff guys, that's what i'm talking about.

For me, the difficult part of this theme is not only to get a good close-up, but also to still show that it's in an urban setting (for like with the bricks and mortar, for Jacques with the cracked tile (?)).

I'll try to post more stuff in this thread, but would invite anyone to also post their shots in this theme.

Thanks for the explanation, Hans. My previous contribution didn't qualify, I guess.

Hopefully this one does.    At the step of my front-door.  (I really love Urban nature)  ;)
