... that's what is currently allowed, at daytime (at night, the radius shrinks to zero).

Fortunately, my old Df (7 years now) has an extensive lens wardrobe and can change outfit every day. Today, Russian fashion was "in". Helios 44-M, my worst lens for sure. The pros: center sharpness, low distortion, price. The cons: everything else. Most importantly: it works and gets used.

Erik Lund:
Thank you for being active and for sharing the interesting images!

Akira:
As always, I enjoy the way your stream of thoughts unfolded.

My favorite frame would be #6 with the tinge of HCB and de Chirico at the same time.

Airy:

Akira, you made me look up de Chirico. I was vaguely aware of his being a part of "surrealism", which is no longer fashionable, but remains interesting all the same.

The spot is a private alley orthogonal to rue St Jacques in Lille. Dark, damp bricks, some even painted in black, reminding some gloomy places in Harry Potter.

Sorry for the plastic cover hiding the gas meter, France's GDF managed to make the ugliest buildings look even uglier.
