The J4 was easier to chimp than the later model, J5. I sometimes carry a j5 for video, as not all camera bodies I play with do movies.
There is something I really like about a sub sized [Handy] camera with an 18-35, equivalent point of view.

the FSU chip arrived yesterday and was installed with 2x tape to the adapter (for safety reasons)
seems to be working fine for now...the ability to zoom helps but the LCD and its poor resolution makes this difficult.
i can also confirm that the Japanese blogger is correct in saying that the chip sucks battery when left overnight.
