Backlit trumpeter swan splash down
« on: March 31, 2021, 00:51:43 »
This trumpeter swan was captured yesterday morning as he flew out of the shadows of the tree lined shore and was lit from behind by the rising sun.

Randy makes fantastic pictures whatever camera in hand.
Nice to see that the Z6 works well for wildlife.

Thanks everyone for your kind comments.

re: Z6.  I do enjoy this camera, but it has some limitations for small, fast moving subjects, such as birds in flight.  Still prefer the D850/D500 for that.  On larger birds, like this swan, it does well, and for a shot like this where the dynamic range is really important, it seems to be very flexible. The ISO performance is really good. The flip out screen works nicely for low level shots.  WYSWYG is also a real plus.  Looking forward to the anticipated Z8, but might look at the Z9 as well.

Cheers

Randy
