Human Time lapse photos
(1/1)
John Geerts:
They regularly surface the internet hights, especially during summer, photoserials who show the human aging like this Yearly Time-lapse between father and son: http://www.wimp.com/father-son/ .
Always fascinating. The most striking I have seen were the portraits by Nicholas Nixon of four sisters: http://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2014/10/03/magazine/01-brown-sisters-forty-years.html?_r=0
Does any one know more of these series?
The most interesting project in regard of documentary making is the Up-series by Michael Apted where he follows a group of pupils since 1964 every seven year. The next one is due in 2019 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Up_Series
Frank Fremerey:
I have seen the sisters in an exhibition once. All of them. This might have been ten years ago, so I missed ten years. I love long term projects in photography that is why I loved "Boyhood" the film.
John Geerts:
Thanks Frank. I haven't seen 'Boyhood' yet, but I know director Richard Linklater is fascinated by the idea. In 'Before Sunrise' (1995) and the 9 years later made 'Before Sunset' he analyses Julie Delpy and Ethan Hawk and the principles of eternal love. ;)
