My tropical adventure
« on: August 04, 2015, 14:12:30 »
Back in my old home village for a few days, I visited its fine little river-gorge. The vegetation was so lush and overgrown, I could imagine myself to be in the tropics somewhere.

Very lush indeed. However, as I can identify many of the plants, couldn't be in the Tropics :D

I did actually say: "I could *imagine* myself . . . "   ::) :D

I like the wet atmosphere . The pictures awake an idea of the smell
I would exoect there and I like it.

Dave, sorry to say, but I would have to envy you surrounded by such a nice, apparently (or rather, obviously) cool environment!  :D

Thanks, everyone, for your kind comments.

Akira - living in Tokyo, I can see why you might envy a location like this one - cool and shady even on a hot day (not many of those in Scotland at the moment). I think I could learn to tolerate the mid-30s temperatures you get, but the humidity . . .

Dave, I would have to say that no one ever could learn to tolerate the climate of the summer in Tokyo, if one was born in any colder areas.  I've been living in Tokyo for 30+ years, but, as a guy from Hokkaido, I gave up!

A very rich gorge.   Was it not like this before?

Thanks, Peter and John.

A very rich gorge.   Was it not like this before?

When I lived there, until my late teens, there was much less vegetation and especially very much less undergrowth - which now gives the jungly feeling.

You have certainly captured and projected the feeling of a lush and cool environment.  The penultimate image is my favorite.
