Really lovely light making some of the feathers to stand against the background in a very subtle way  8)

Yes, Erik, the low winter Sun creates long tree shadows on the
water and these guys were just in the middle of such falloff.

It always amazes me how clean & white they keep their feathers!

It always amazes me how clean & white they keep their feathers!

With the mating season at the front door, they are never more
clean and beautiful then now… except for the feeding in the
shallow, muddy parts of the marsh.
