Black on Black • A studio exercise

There were seven students in studio for a "gothic" St Valentine
session. Their surprise was the task: a black rose on black back-
ground colour picture.


Light is free… capturing it is not!

This is an enchanting photograph!

Would I be right in thinking that you had a single large light overhead? Perhaps a little behind and tilted slightly towards the camera?

Thanks and yes, this was shot with a gridded 1:2 strip box
in the position you describe… so you're right. :P
