I would much rather carry around the baby f/5.6 lens than the larger (but beautiful) monster.

Could have been so much better if they posted video from the camera...

If I were to spend 30000£ on a fisheye lens, I would save for the big fish (6mm/2.8 ), much better optically than the 6mm/5.6.

Otherwise, for 1/60th of that amount and with the same amount of inconveniencies, I would save 25000£ and put 500£ on a 7.5mm/5.6

BTW, that's what I did about two years ago, and I even chipped it... It goes nicely on any FF with the F bayonet. Just do a MUP, mount the lens and turn off the camera. The mirror will sit pretty on the side of the protrusion  and not get damaged at all. Not to be attempted with the 2.1 cm/4 !!!
Can also be done with the 10mm OP, as Birna has shown countless times (can be done on the 8mm/8, too, but the 7.5mm/5.6 is better).
If the camera has LiveView, it works about the same as a Z6/Z7.
To remove (you have to have sufficient battery power, above 80%), do another MUP and unmount the lens.

Attaching a photo of the chipped 7.5 mm

Massimo, would love to see resulting images.

Only a couple, the thread is for a different topic... Lens is fixed focus, everything is in focus from a few centimeters on...

Christmas 2017

Nikon D810, Fisheye-Nikkor 7.5mm f:5.6, downsampled to 1024x1024 and 1200x1200 approx. Not bad for a 52-year old lens (according to Roland's Nikon Lens serial list it's from 1966-7)

(lens was still unchipped, job was done early 2019)

it is doable with a FF SLR of course and i have done it as well with the 10mm OP Fisheye. Nevertheless it is more comfortable with a Z6 and you can use the viewfinder
With an extra FTZ Adapter the rear lens element which is somewhat delicate (and needs to be mounted with care) gets better protection.

Don't know about the 10mm OP, but the 7.5 mm has a metal flange extending about 3 mm and protecting the rear element.

The 10 OP has the identical rear construction to the 7.5/5.6 and 8/8 Fisheyes.

Yes it has some protection, but imho nevertheless needs to be handled with more care than with a FTZ Adapter already sitting on it.
