Bez, your story reminds me that somewhere near Big Pine, California, there is a nice Pentax Takumar 28mm f/2.8 lens sitting on an outcrop, where I put it down and walked away in 1989. It was a little way off the road, so it's probably still right where I left it. At least the film came home with me. And despite the loss, 1990, 1991, etc turned out to be good years all the same ...
