Don't know how I missed this, yes much better, more dark and light detail, brings out the bird from the background.  Working with the original files is also a big advantage.

Another great image! Fantastic details when seen large, the bird does get really wet

Thank you, Armando. One good look at the quality of the images and I was convinced I needed the lens as well. I’m hoping it will go on sale sometime this fall.
