why not try repairing it?

I am waiting on better drivers- my ifixit kit bent tips trying to take apart an older non ai lens. Any particular areas I should focus on? I'm not worried about disassembly, but sourcing junk lenses seems difficult. I assume this thing is shot, and the cheapest junk lenses I see are $100. Too much for a lens I see for $150-200 in my opinion.
