Penetration can be a good thing.
Japan is a very interesting country.

Yeah, it is, better or worse...

January 22.  It's snowing heavily in Tokyo.
Spectaculair, we are facing a new warmth record for januari 24th

Interesting to see how the spherical aberration is corrected.  :)

I love to see parts of your home towns so here is a snap of some characters on the street yesterday morning. Three "amigas". Lovely ladies, they were very friendly.

  d500 with 105mm 1.4 with good light. Crazy sharp.

Got more than 1 m of wet snow dumped over us last week -- now, even the snow pack has compressed and subsided significantly, there is still plenty of it :D

A snapshot from the window of my living room today, to show the current state of my backyard deck and garden.

I have packed most of the photo gear in preparation for the upcoming move out of Oslo, but a humble Nikon 1V1 is accessible as long as it lasts.

@Bjørn: all the duckweed compressed???
@Fons: delicate, very much so
@all: Have to refresh my backups (12HD ==> 2HD after 10 years) for saving room and deduplication and data consistency. That is why my main machine is inaccessible for a few days. I shoot currently, but the shots stay on the cameras

Frank, yes there are cultures of two duckweeds buried there under the snow. According to theory, one of the strains should survive in spring, the other not.

No idea what the present situation is -- of course. The cultures are inaccessible :D

Lots of new construction going on in Bonn. I saw ~10 houses today that were not there last time I visited. WOW.
