On Sukhmavit Soi 4 (the small side street #4 off the main street Sukhumvit) in Bangkok next to the entrance to Nana Plaza.

These women are very averse to having pictures taken and, if they get upset, a large number of irate young men swarm out of adjacent places to beat the crap out of whomever upset them - something I didn't want to experience. Thai men of this group compensate for any size differential with numbers, speed and a willingness to use any available object that is sharp or heavy.

There is a clear class/color distinction between these bar girls, who are traditionally from Isaan Province and are more Lao than Thai, and middle class Thai women who wouldn't be found in this neighborhood.
