bokeh play
« on: January 02, 2017, 16:37:41 »
Just fooling around. No inspiration and wanting to shoot something.

Put something in between lens and (out of focus) x-mas tree to get some "play" in the bokeh of the lights.

If you have some similar bokeh play shots, please share them along.

Of course, the result and the "thing" used for the bokeh play.

This is an old insider's trick. Depending on what is between the subject and lens, a great many variations over the theme arise. Thus definitively something to play around with.

Just remember the lens should be used wide open for a maximum effect.

Thanks Bjørn. And, beautiful!

I used the 135 f/2 AIS wide open for the bokeh shot (the dino shot with 150 siggy).

My Fireweed was shot with the AFS 300/2.8 Nikkor. At f/2.8. A sunlit water surface with ripples provided the required play of light to the background.
