The creek is entering an underground stone ditch where it crosses the fields. A nice place for the toads and the water shrew to spend the winter.
I used a reversed lens to capture the hazel flower. The Laowa 15 mm. I'm not that impressed by the resolving power of that lens. It clearly has it issues.

Spring is a variable concept. The time of the year is just a part of the equation.

Spring has Sprung in Virginia,

Spring seem like a abrupt consept in the US, while here in scandinavia its a longer transition process. No wonder the people differ in character?

Nice to see that these critters are up and about :) I have to wait another month until they start to spawn in my back yard. But they respond extremely fast if its sunny and the pond is ice free.

Today I was out looking for the Pacific loon (Gavia pacifica), a 2nd observation in norway. I left the twichers with the unsuccessful watching and concentrated on finding clues of the coming spring. My second and third flowering plant observation this season was the Anemone hepatica and the Saxifrage oppositifolia. They were scarce, but snap worthy. I also discovered that the Nikkor O Auto 35mm f2 combined with the Nikon PK-12 made a nice setup for photographing flowers. Both pictures are taken at f16.

It is a bit cooler for a couple of days here in Tokyo.  And this Japanese magnolia tree has stopped to bloom for a moment...

The first one with the blossoming tree is great! The fisheye really does a fine job.
