A wet, rainy day? - go where there's lots of water.

This is the Black Linn Falls on the River Braan at The Hermitage, about an hour's drive from the Loch Tay Highland Lodges, and a location that might prove useful to our Scotland "eventers" if we get a couple of wet days - something not unknown in Scotland. As well as the short but powerful waterfall, there is a fine forest of cedar, Douglas Fir and other species, plus the rather strange "Hermitage" itself - which seems to be a modern replica of I know not what.

A possible downside is that the Hermitage is very popular with other visitors - tourists, in other words.

I had once a Black Linn [Sondek] ...

Those rocks look dangerously slippery, Dave.

Dave, these are truly dynamic images!

Such a place would indeed be dangerous for a bear walking on two feet instead of four...

Bjørn and Akira - no need to worry - I  was *completely* safe while making these images. No need ever to put boot on rock!

Sorry, I should have added "... when climbing down the gorge, close to the water's edge" :D
