Alas, poor Yorick! He is Noh more . . . .

With apologies to Wm. Shakespeare. My beloved Noh mask was hanging crooked, so I decided to straighten him up . . . .

you certainly straightened him out David !

Only photographers would think to photograph this sort of "oops" breakage because only they would be able to "see" the classic image and theme it created. Sorry about the damage but nice job/save anyway.

Thanks for your comments, all. Looking on the bright side, I did enjoy doing a little still-lfe for a change.


Fons - one of us had to go . . . it was either the mask or me . . . that nasty little smile . . . it was a fair fight but the mask lost . . . that Ganesh mask above my desk better be careful too . . .

I think it would be interesting to repair the broken mask and make an artistic addition to it. Glue mask together. Get a nice headband with decorative eyepatch to cover the fracture line and one of the eyes. Perhaps stick a jaunty plume into the headband.
