Anirban, your pictures are special.
Crisp, colorful and full of emotions.
On a side note, I would go crazy in such a crowd...

Absolutely good stuff. I would have taken a long lens in such a crowd ... Just to capture stuff that would be difficult to foot zoom.

Thank you Jakov. One hour tops; that's how long I can manage in such crowd :)

Gary, thank you and I'm glad you mentioned that. In fact, I was carrying Fuji 55-200 as well and I took some of the shots with it, I've updated the exif above. Here's the problem I faced - with a long lens I had to step back. And with that crowd, every time I aimed, someone or other was coming between the lens and the subject continuously. Crowd never stopped.

Net-net: between a Ricoh GR (18mm) and Fuji 55-200 I managed to get few keepers. If Fuji had a prime tele (>120mm), I would love to have one.

The crowds and a long lens = The Challenge. Fuji recently came out with a 90mm f/2 ... = FF 135mm FOV or are you looking for a FF 180mm? My old Nikkor 180mm was one of my most used lenses.

Gary - I'm up for that challenge. :) And, I've lots to learn.
I'm looking for a 180mm/200mm FF prime. I've not yet used the XF 55-200 enough to comment.

Back in the film only days, when zooms first appeared, they were quite crappy. The lenses were ground to reflect an optical quality pretty consistent to that of a Coke bottle bottom. Modern zooms are remarkably sharp. I tend to use my zoom either rack-in or racked-out, at the extremes of the focal range. I feel I'm getting two lenses without a lens change. The 55-200, like all Fuji FX lenses, is very sharp.

On the Street with the 55-200 @ 200mm.

Thank you again Gary for sharing your experience. Your photos above (and earlier shots as well) are sheer evidence of what Fuji 55-200 is capable of.

Good stuff indeed. They all seem lost in the crowd.

Thanks Peter. "Lost in crowd" and their interesting profession are the only interesting parts in these otherwise ordinary photos. :)
