Thank you Hugh. I forgot a bit about the #792 one. My intention was to cover the total Moon eclipse last Monday. As the place where I’m living is surrounded by mountains, and the total eclipse was at the horizon just before sunset, I couldn’t make it, unless driving 30 km further away. So this is my surrogate proxy. H ;)

Beautiful capture!  Here in Tokyo, it has been cloudy and/or rainy for a couple of days, and the sky won't be clear up until Saturday.  Your image releases my frustration.  Thank you for sharing!

Super Sun! Really impressive!
Unfortunately Alaska will evade the path of that eclipse, but there should lots of opportunities further south in the US.

During a continued sunspot project, the cloud covers do not always cooperate as hoped for but can lead to beneficial results. The framing of this capture today was also not what I tried for in the hurry of that moment but I like it better than other frames. Tripod mounted, Baader Astrosolar filter film, uncropped D500 with 300PF and stacked TC-14E+TC-20E III, f/16 (reported f/11), contrast detect AF on edge of the sun seems to work best now.

Thank you all  :) Some frustration remains as I would like even sharper images, but the heat and relatively low position on the horizon is impeding this somewhat. Waiting for the coming winter.

That’s the reason I didn’t upload my capture, no detail on the moons surface >:(
Nice capture!

Super Sun! Really impressive!
Thanks, Erik, a lot of dramatic views happen when observing the sun at high magnification through a solar filter and drifting clouds, but I thought this one was special.

Very nice supermoon MFloyd. I never seem to be able to make the foreground appear sharp with the moon, probably not enough distance around here unless the moon is at very far away mountains low on the horizon.
