I missed this discussion a couple of weeks ago.  An added bonus for the May 26th full moon will be a total eclipse, visible around the Pacific.  It's a brief one, only about 14 minutes in totality.  In Seattle it occurs just after 4 am, and the moon will still be emerging from the eclipse when the sun rises.  Clouds are a potential problem here, of course ...  Details: https://www.timeanddate.com/eclipse/map/2021-may-26

Here in Tokyo, the moon will rise at 18:39 on May 26th, and the eclipse will start at 18:44.  The total eclipse will be able to see from 20:09 to 20:28.

I find that Sequator is my preferred choice for easy stacking star trails, it preserves color and contrast much better than DSS that needs special treatment to recover the colors.

That image in the link with "accidental" bats is really interesting, HCS!

Just a reminder that the first penumbral phase of the May 26 Lunar eclipse starts in about an hour (08:47:39 UTC, might not be much noticeable), and max totality in about 3.5 hours (11:18:42 UTC) from time of writing . Totality lasts for only 14 minutes. It is also popularly called a Super Flower Blood Moon. It should be visible from most of western US and Japan and other places in that region of the east, check the map and time here: https://www.timeanddate.com/eclipse/lunar/2021-may-26

Weather does not look too bad here right now, but since we do not have dark now I do not know how much of the total phase will be visible. It will also be quite low on the horizon.
