Night Market in Bangkok, Feb 2015

(1/2) > >>

The_Traveler:
The first day of an almost month long trip through northern Laos.
We were overnighting in Bangkok and I was restless, so walked out to this market.
Taken with an OMD 5, Oly 20 mm
I left in some color noise as I think is helped the 'look' and taking it out destroyed some of the crispness of the picture.

All comment and critique gladly accepted.

elsa hoffmann:
I think anyone who has been there and have seen such scenes - will immediately feel a connection with it. Nicely done.

Thomas Stellwag:
getting pictures like this might become more and more difficult, because the "actors" use nowadays strong LED´s to illuminate their goods.
This contrast will give a general different impression in future pictures

Erik Lund:
I really like the style of not doing so much PP - Especially for night photography! well done.

The_Traveler:
Thank you for the comments - and the views.
Two things affected the PPing in my mind.

First, as Elsa said, this kind of environment, the dark areas and the pools of light, are so particular of nights in Asia that editing seemed to destroy the 'atmosphere'.
Second, there was so much color noise that trying to reduce it significantly smoothed out too much detail.

but most important, I liked the look as it was.
I am in love with South East Asia and these photos are, more than anything else, an aide memoire for me.
