Lenses can be stored anywhere, Frank :D

The 9mm lenses are Laowa 9mm f/5.6 and the new arrival, Viltrox 9mm f/2.8 AF. Both are Z mount, but the Laowa is bigger and much heavier since it is made for FX. It is also MF and cannot use front filtration. By contrast, the Viltrox has AF,  is a featherweight and smaller, since it only covers DX. both are good lenses, however I must say the colour handling of the Viltrox is even better as virtually all colour aberrations are brought well under control. Most unusual for a super wide lens at any price point.

Using the ultrawide 9mm Viltrox on the Z fc is enjoyable. Its handling of colours is superb due to the virtually non-existing CA issues.

It aptly demonstrates what I call "wide angle paradox" of showing  how depth of field is limited despite the very short focal length. This is evident because the lens itself is so sharp. One sees this clearly when the lens is focused very close. Even at f/8, I could not get the wall behind these Parthenocissus vines in sharp focus, because the front subject was so close (approx. 20 cm). The area coverage is there, though.

Nice, Frank

I took this photo of the same construction cranes in July, from another angle. They seem to have done some progression.
