wow - what a contrast
High tech silicone vs oil on canvas. I do like how the curators have chosen to lighten up the gallery spaces normally filled with the "dark 'n' gloomy" oils.

Akihabara, Tokyo.  Shot with Leica LUX app in iPhone 14.
I like the sense of motion and how the two pedestrians "bookend" the third one with the cat on a leash...I presume they're heading for the Cat Cafe. ;)

You power the D700 to great heights, Adli !!

Thank you John. The D700 has been a loyal and reliable travel companion :-)

Glad you like it, Hans!  FWIW, it's a dog.  He would be seriously in trouble if he would enter the cat cafe...

Sunspot active region AR4079 has just made it back from its round at the back of the sun. Visible at the upper left, it still consists of two subregions with a brighter divide in between. It will be worth watching in the coming week (with solar protection). 500PF+ TC-20E III and Baader AstroSolar film ND 5.0 on ASI678MC, stitch of two stacks, each the best 15% of 1500 frames captured in 12-bit mode. Open in new tab for larger version.

"If You Can't Talk About It, Point to It" (Laurie Anderson)
left combo: from 2.50m to infinity
right combo: from 2.20m to 30m
Thank you, Jürgen.

I got the part: "shorter object distance with extension and not infinity focus"

I did not get the part: "The 300PF is not 300mm focal length if you focus closer"

... I understood this was the case with Micro-Nikkors that have a built in extensioin like the 60mm Af-S
... what is the problem with the PF in technical terms?

500PF+ TC-20E III
I missed the introduction of the Nikon-F-Teleconverter TC-20 III ,,, I still got the II-Edition  and I am not happy with it. I am very happy with the TC-14 III though.
Can you write a short review, please?
Best
Frank

Nothing special. Just your ordinary Shoten Z to F adapter, MIREX Nikon F to Hasselblad V Tilt/Shift adapter, some Hassi extensions and Zeiss Sonnar 150mm at the far end  :)

What every housefive might easily find in the kitchen drawer...

After testing D850/Zf/D500 with & without extension I still love the D500 + TC-14 II + 300PF with no extension best. The extension slows down the aim-and-shoot significantly.

This combo, right now. 100% PS JPEG-Quality set to 10/12.

Second pic is the D850 taken yesterday, reduced to 40%

If you start thinking about this lens even for the shortest moment you are definitely lost :) It is sort of expensive, but also kind of essential, you won't regret the decision.

And now for something completely different: another Scheimpflug solution with almost striking elegance.

Thanks Jurgen! The Z 400mm f/4.5 VR S plus tc-1.4 x is at home now. Thanks for pushing me over the decision line! It’s indeed amazing!
