A demonstration of how to make rope in Peak Cavern, Derbyshire, UK. The cave mouth was both home and workshop for rope-makers for centuries. It was both the only reliably dry spot in Derbyshire and surrounded by lead mines, which needed rope. My son is getting off lightly considering the work that children would have done there in the past.
(The cave was known as the Devil's Arse for centuries until Queen Victoria paid a visit. Nobody could bring themselves to use this name to her face.)
