I save my most used settings in "My Menu" for both the Shooting Menu and the Custom Settings Menu. All I have to do to get my D850 set to my defaults is Load Settings. I wright protect the *.bin file on my primary memory card so I don't accidentally over write my default settings.

It is a good idea to down load the Nikon Users Guide or Manual for your camera to desktop, laptop and especially phone. Most people do not like manuals but when you are stuck and don't have access to friends to help you can knuckle down and read the manual.

Sorry to hijack this thread, but does anyone know how to program the display on some Z lenses to be ‘on’ by default? Every time I power up the camera, or wake from sleep, I have to press the lens DISP button enable it.

Surely there must be a to turn it on automatically… ?

I answered my own question > The lens display enters sleep mode after a short period of inactivity. Very annoying - I wish there was an option to have it ‘always on’ (at least while the camera is on).
