Recent NG troubles

Birna recently posted about a corrupted database causing trouble. She also mentioned a "ghost" user trying to login but there being no record of him. Well, that was me. I have re-registered with the same username. Is it possible to link this new profile to my older posts?

Not sure, but if time permits will look into this. Your old posts still exist, but marked 'ianwatson guest'.

Thank you, Birna. If the fix is not straightforward then do not worry about it. I'll just refer to myself as the NikonGear Ghost  ;)

I found a "recipe" for merging accounts, including 'guests'. However, it involves SQL updates on the data base, which makes me feel a little uneasy. I'll try it on a test forum first anyway.

A search for 'Ian Wilson' will also show the ghost occurrences.

Zang:
I noticed the site was acting up a bit. I posted a photo in the flowers topic and it either did not get posted or the site showed the error page. Not sure what was going on.
