I fixed my camera's leaky sensor chamber with 4 COVID-19 RATs
(1/1)
Macro_Cosmos:
Background notes:
- Different to consumer cameras, scientific cameras typically employ active cooling to achieve lower readout noise and lower dark current, cooling also improves readout noise linearity.
- The sensor is typically cooled to a constant, 15C, 5C, 0C. Higher-end ones cool it to something ridiculous like -90C, such as EM-CCDs.
- The enclosure of the camera must be kept dry, otherwise, condensation will occur if the cooling is pushed too low.
- The sensor chamber is typically backfilled as well. High-end ones use a vacuum hermetic seal.

Turns out, the fix was incredibly easy, took at most 10 minutes.
