"My" local river is Glomma, the largest in Norway. Log driving and timber floating long since have ceased, but the specialised structures in the river landscape still stand. This is a series of 'lensekar' (haven't found an English name yet, anyone ?) used in the making of timber rafts to be floated across Øyeren, a large lake just downstream. These structures dominate the riverine landscape for more than 10 km.
