Went to my local café today to celebrate the arrival of a new lens, which I picked up from the post office en route.
In the beginning of my Aquatic Plant project, I purchased an underwater housing for an Olympus OM-D E1Mk2 with the 7-14/2.8 lens. It is no secret I have been much less than happy with this setup, mainly because the 7-14 Olympus lens was a bad optical match to the dome port Olympus sold me. I complained to Olympus and they admitted there was an issue, took the dome port back with the 7-14, and gave me a smaller dome port and the 8mm f/1.8 lens instead. Plus a macro lens thrown in as a compensation. The new gear produced better results, but it being a fisheye design, I still wasn't too happy as shooting my plants underwater with a fisheye didn't deliver the images I had hoped for.
To give the Olympus system a last chance, I ordered a 7-14/4 Panasonic lens instead, to learn if that would match my requirements better. The lens arrived today, and I had the excuse for a visit to the café
