Sad news.  Let us hope that the company can keep going and that better times for it are ahead.

They still continue making parts for the cameras, tools for the manufacturing and design the cameras and their manufacture in Japan, so it's not that they close shop completely.

Dogman:
According to that story, the only camera still being made in Japan is the D6.  It doesn't look like much will change for Nikon users.

I don't know if Nikon bodies are being made in other countries but all the most recent DSLR bodies I own were made in Thailand.  Not sure where the Z series has been made.

Both my Z6 and Z7 were made in Japan, but I understand the Z6II and Z7II are made in Thailand.
