Nikkor-S.C 85mm F/1.5

I'm not surprised. This is a very old lens, rare in its time as well, and one has to use it either on a Nikon rangefinder camera (with film) or on a mirrorless body (with adapter).

FWIW, the f/2 8.5cm Nikkor (RF) is a surprisingly fine performer provided it's not pointed towards the sun.

Thanks Birna, I own the 8.5cm f2 and I like it a lot, that is why I think that the 1.5 must be spectacular.

my biggest problem is the condition of the specimens...as you know, this is a Sonnar

Some examples with the 3.5cm f/1.8 Nikkor-W. Which still is a fine performer.
