Discounting across all photographicbrands has been heavy for at least the last six months.  Our retail sector is pretty weak at the moment.

Loads of discounting on photo equipment here in the U.S. during that period.  Even relatively new items are sometimes getting discounted.  Great for the consumer in the short term but not a good indicator for the health of the industry over a longer period.

I agree. 

It would not be too surprising if there are not some corrections over say the next two years with less profitable brands either disappearing or being taken over by the stronger performers.
