Each year I journey north in Michigan for the loon hatch. It is generally within the first two weeks of June, but the weather has been so unpredictable with climate change, that I didn't know what to expect. I watch two lakes very closely, and occ. visit others when time allows.
The first chicks hatched on 6-3, still waiting for the second set to hatch on the other lake.
D4. 600VR. f/5.6. 1.800s. ISO 500. Taken from the bottom of my little boat. I have worked this lake for so long, that the adults are comfortable with me, and often come in too close.
Comments and advice appreciated.
More loons to follow!
