I have a copy of the "previous" model of 300mm F4 lens for sale. It includes the Kirk replacement foot for extra stability over the standard Nikon one, plus the padded carry bag. If I can find the Nikon box, I'll include that too.
It has developed the classic AFS squeak. As a result it still takes excellent images of still subjects, but following focus on moving objects isn't reliable.
I appreciate this reduces it's value, but it could still be used:
- For macros (which come out well with this lens, giving good working distance from the subject)
- Other LiveView work
- If appropriate, for spare components in lens repair.
I see they go on eBay for up to £190. I'd accept £180 for it (plus carriage & any insurance that you want).
I'll post photos in the next day or so, but it's in good condition with no damage and normal wear & tear.
I'd prefer to sell to a fellow NG member.
Here's an example of results with a static subject
(famous world cup player Jonny Wilkinson)
Another subject with plenty of time to set focus
This time used along with the TC14
Finally I've added some shots taken today using Autofocus. With the AF squeak, some days AF is fine, others it isn't.
It was really windy in the garden so the last two have some subject movement.
The Fuscia was taken with the straight 300mm. The remainder with 300mm plus TC-14EII
(this is in Good condition and also for sale @£175 if you're interested)
The final shot of the bee was taken hand held
