Thanks for the enthusiastic and kind words, Paco.

While a number of the artists in the competitions are professional ice carvers, I have several biology colleagues at Institute of Arctic Biology who have competed.

Mold Forest by Ina Timling and Ronald Daanen in the two-person class did not win any prices, but I appreciated how science and education was combined with art. It was accompanied by a poster explaining the ecology of mold.
