Hi there - I've just performed an AF Fine tuning session with my AF-S 1.8 lenses. It was needed, I think. The need was most expressed for my D750, while D800 and D810 less. On D750 all lenses, except 60/2.8, most lenses had to be corrected about +15, and the AF-S 24mm and AF-S 28mm even +20.
The 28/1.8 needed at correction of +5 on D810, and -5 on D800. However, most of the lenses on D800 and D810 was in the range of 0 - +5. The table below might be readable?
All focussing was done at about 60 - 90 cm, using tripod, a halogen light, F=2.5 and 4.0
All these are on close focussing distance. How does it influence longer distances? More than 10 - 20 meters, or landscape photography?
Or, have I misunderstood the meaning of AF Fine tuning?
