I got a good laugh from the 9 students when, helping them identify
the Black Headed Gull, I said: "It's the one with the headphones!"


Some gulls are pretty difficult to identify as they have quite a few plu-
mages through their growth and the seasons. This one is a juvenile;
adult BHG do have a black head on time for the mating season.
