A couple of years ago I had a serious dust problem with a brand new D4s body; my NPS salesmen pointed the finger towards my Nikkor 28-300 mm f/3.5-5.6. I took about 200 pictures, and, between each picture, made a dozen of quick rotation movements on the zoom ring. End result: no dust was sucked into the body as a result of the aforementioned.
(*) the problem was due to a D600 like shutter mechanism, which was replaced in the end.
