Botanical Garden today with the 200mm f/2G
« on: September 03, 2018, 00:31:52 »
First the B&W.
I can't wait to replace my D5 with the Z6 ( I believe there will be no D6). I've been asking for a lighter Pro Nikon for years. Someone told me here it was not possible.
Thank you for looking.

Very fine shots!
If you are using the 200 f/2G then you are using the lens with probably the highest specific weight in the Nikon lineup. In this context weight of the camera body is not too much of an issue. I'd prefer a heavier body for better balance - so i hope there will be a D6.

200/2 = 3kg ; D5 = 1.4 kg ; Z6 = 0.6 kg.
In the Z6 case, the body is just an appendage. Good news for the pros who carry two camera bodies (rather than dual card slots).

Back to the main subject - fine shots indeed; it is unfortunate that much of the extra quality gets lost over the internet (downsampling, compression, etc.). I'd like to see big prints...

Thank you for the comments guys.
The Z6 is the best news for me in many years, in terms of photo equipment.

You are welcome to pass the D5 my way when the Z6 arrives. It still takes magnificent photos!

I would also go for a D5 when there is no D6
