"Island on Loch Tulla" looks great with the characteristic shapes of the trees constantly blown by the winds from a specific direction.

Thanks, it is true that dominant wind direction has a noticeable effect on tree growth, both in Scotland and in England (at least, in NW England, which is the part I know best).
Thank you also for the previous comment, the area around Rannoch Moor those days lent itself to minimalist landscapes.
