Nikon I is the original Nikon rangefinder model I believe.

They also have S3 Olympic.

Really not very expensive for a Nikon I. Probably pretty banged up camera that attracts fewer of the hardcore collectors.

Yes, this is the original Nikon rangefinder model. amongst a lot of other quirks, with a 24x32 mm format if memory serves. Or was it 24x30 mm? Must try to locate my Rotolini books.

They also had the grandfather of all Micro-Nikkors, the 5 cm f/3.5 (collapsible) in Leica M39 mount. Price wasn't too bad.

Prices have dropped- and with a collapsible Nikkor 5cm F2. The Nikon I is 32x24, or 4:3 format- popular in Japan as you got more shots on a roll. It was quickly replaced by the Nikon M which was 34x24, but had standard spacing between negatives to be processed by the machines within the US. Minolta held to the 32x24 standard much longer than Nikon, one of the reasons why you do not see as many outside of Japan. I picked up a pair of Nikon M's, one Nosync the other with sync- very cheap, the closest I'll get to one of these.
