Cooeked CDs

A week or two ago a friend showed me the fascinating effects you could photograph through a CD that has been "cooked" in a microwave oven for no more than 2 seconds. The aluminium between the top and bottom covers disintegrates and the light refracted from the CDs indentations is very interesting. We had lots of fun photographing these. Martin

In a similar vein many years ago, the son of a fellow that I worked with used to put polariods into his toaster to heat them up, then use a pencil eraser to move the emulsion around. His results were. like yours, a manipulated reality.

It's interesting what will draw ones attention, whether it be real or imaginary. "Calling Dr. Rorschach........"   ;)

Rorschach indeed  :) I suggested to my son-in-law he could use one of them for the cover of his music band's new CD. Somehow I don't think I will get a taker. Thanks for looking anyway. I enjoyed the photography. Martin
