The acme of loneliness: in front of one's smartphone watching virtual people live (last shot). Like me right now.

Loneliness is a matter of perception.
You could be with someone and feel lonely or you could be all by yourself and not feel lonely :)

Precisely, and that's where books often are better companions. They generate less craving and leave more open to real encounters. Smartphone lead to ghost chasing. Fortunately, smartphones have built-in cameras, a better window to reality ;)

Yup  :)
The only time I crave Solitude is on long haul flights.  A good 'airplane' book often works to keep fellow passengers at bay but not always.

Given the theme of solitude/loneliness, the covers of Le Clezio's Tempete and Rufin's Le Collier Rouge in bright light in the second one are an especially nice touch and you might consider post-processing to emphasise them.

at least with the latter the company is potentially more desirable.  Or maybe not?

thanks for the photos, Viv
