#4 and 5 are beautifully contrasting snippets of the autumn atmosphere in Kyoto. I smiled at the monks with smartphone.  Your keen eyes shine here.

Thanks, Akira. Kyoto is one of my favourite places for photography. It can get crowded, though - check out the crowds at Arashiyama a couple of weeks ago - its hard to get a clear shot.

Too bad. I could keep myself away from buying the 105E but the urge gets stronger with every pic I see .... got it ... got me .... 1865 total delivered to my door

Sorry Mike- don't know why Mongo had Akira in mind. Mongo repeats his words about the images to you directly ! What Mongo wouldn't do to swap places with you Mike. Kyoto is one of Mongo's favourite places.

Thanks, Eric. Yes, it is the 105/1.4. Its a fantastic lens and I am really enjoying it as I discover its charms. It seems to be a great lens for portraits (not that I have any particular skills here).

This double portait is a real beauty

Excellent series, Mike - I like the way the mood changes from shot to shot, and I especially like #2 for its dark mood.

In all my visits to Kyoto over the years I never went to Arashiyama so it's pretty near the top of my list for next autumn (we are planning for November, as usual)..

Beautifull series, Mike.  I like the second one most.

What can Kyoto be crowded  !!!

Thanks, John. I think that the second one shows some of the lens' personality - I really like it.

Kyoto is a very popular tourist destination, and is especially crowded in autumn and spring (cherry blossom time).
