Can photos get your juices flowing?
« on: November 28, 2016, 23:23:15 »
Frank likes to cook, so I'll bet he agrees that a picture can prime the old saliva glands. Here, courtesy of my iPhone 6s+, 8) we see one of my wife's home inventions, which she has titled Chicken Fried Steak Benedict! We had some Chicken Fried Steak leftover from the previous day's supper, so for the next day's breakfast she toasted some English muffins, topped them with fresh sautéed spinach, the Chicken Fried Steak, a couple of sunny side eggs, some hollandaise, and a dusting of cayenne. Plate that up with some potatoes fried in peanut oil, and hang on!  ;D

To answer the question: Yes.

To rate this photo: No. Colors are off, I see blur by camera shake and the perspective from above is rarely a good idea.

To make the colors clean in my kitchen I use the "Osram Dulux L 55 W/954" which are also used for proofing in the graphics industry (98% RAL color scale). They are about 10 Bucks each and you need a starter unit for them. If you have enough clean light, the iPhone will do, but the old style manual focus tripod mounted Micro-Nikkor will bring your efforts much much further.
You are out there. You and your camera. You can shoot or not shoot as you please. Discover the world, Your world. Show it to us. Or we might never see it.

Looking at food photos definitely sparks a craving on my side. I have been known to immediately get up and go find food!
