Free Existential advice
« on: December 05, 2016, 20:51:26 »
Taken a few summers ago during a Pedestrian Sunday in Kensington, here in Toronto.
The humour of the scene made me laugh and I grabbed this shot.
Nikon S3 rangefinder
Cosina Voigtlander 25 f4 in Nikon S mount
Fuji Velvia 100 ISO colour slide
5.6 @ 1/125th
I shoot with film. That's film. F...i...l...m. You remember film. It was in all the papers.

Thanks Erik.
Strange scene? Not any stranger than many I've seen in Kensington over the years.
And yes, the S3 is a great camera. Basic, rugged and definitely no-frills. I love them.

I like your picture. the scene is well composed/framed.

The guy should charge for advice. Perhaps I would get a queue... ;D

Do you process films by yourself ?

Francis.

Francis,
Thank you.
No, I don't process my film. It is all colour slide (mostly 100 ISO, with some 400 ISO for indoor shooting) and it is currently processed in Montreal through a store here in Toronto.
With the exception of one person who does it essentially as a hobby (and takes up to about ten weeks to return a roll) there is no one else local currently processing E-6.
I wait about two weeks to get it back, but I love film (and film camera equipment) and still have hundreds of rolls in the freezer, so I grin and bear it.

John,
Thank you. Telling stories is all I ever wanted to do with my pictures.
