Any advice on how to fix slack in AF 35-70 2.8?
« on: November 13, 2016, 20:51:39 »
I have a AF 35-70 2.8 which has developed enough slack to stop the AF screw engaging in the camera. Has anyone opened this lens? Any advice to fix it?

Thanks.

Please have a look here:

I'm going to have nightmares about this (or at the least pipedreams).

I wonder if I should open my AF 35-70/2.8D and try to fix its decentering problem. As a kid I used to take apart my toys but never bothered to put them back together. I was probably a cockatoo in a previous life.

I have to admit that this diagram is indeed a bit scary :)

Always loved these hand drawn explosion pictures. They used to have an entire department doing it... now it's all digital.

Lost art indeed ;)
