Thursday is beautiful!
I noticed that her chin blends nicely with the background.

Very nice, including the background.  Pardon my ignorance, but what specifically is the "mini Chubby"?

thanks,

Ok, that would have been my guess.  Now, what was the aperture setting?  I don't see the "cat's eye" effect, which some grumble about at f/1.4.  I would be interested.  The background really is nice as are the images.

Thanks

Love much the first one.  On my (Retina) iPad screen though, there is a slight unsharpness.

Shots were captured at f2.8 and 3.5 or something. They were not WO.

Having said that, as you know, Bokeh is influenced by different factors including the distance of subject to B/G and illumination of B/G light points. In other words, you not necessarily get cat eyes or swirly Bokeh all the time.....

.....as for the grumblers.......it is endemic...

I looked at the both files and they are crystal sharp.....however....as there is always a however.....my ISO was 800 and....the Jpeg was saved at approx 60% which might explain the sharp Retina screen rendering.
