Red carpet
« on: July 15, 2016, 15:47:49 »
Taken on Bloor Street West, in a very exclusive and trendy shopping area here in Toronto, a few weeks ago.
A very old, dear friend and I often take very long walks on Sunday early mornings and explore interesting areas of the city. Because we usually walk for about three hours, I limit myself to one small body and a single lens.
We wandered onto this section of Bloor where an exhibition of very expensive automobiles and racing cars was being set up. A red carpet had been rolled out onto the street, and I liked the way the carpet stretched out into the distance, as well as the clean, deserted look of the area.
As my buddy Sid stopped to photograph an Indy car, I took a second to grab this shot.
Nikon FG Nikkor 24 f2 AIS manual focus
Fuji 100 ISO colour slide
about 5.6 @ 1/60th

I shoot with film. That's film. F...i...l...m. You remember film. It was in all the papers.

a great capture of a surreal looking situation

your friend must have known about it before,
so he choose the colour of the carpet for his polo,
to amplify the dominating red  :)
